Crispus Kamau

Crispus Kamau is a real estate investment and structuring specialist with extensive experience in originating, structuring, and capitalising institutional-grade REITs and property investment platforms across Africa. His expertise spans investment platform formation, capital structuring, investor mobilisation, and the packaging of real estate assets into bankable, income-producing investment vehicles.

He has a strong track record in structuring complex transactions and aligning capital to real estate strategies, including development finance participation, asset-for-unit swaps, pre-let built-to-suit developments, and sale-and-leaseback transactions. His work integrates governance design, investor reporting frameworks, and impact-aligned investment strategies that meet institutional capital requirements.

He has played a leading role in several landmark capital formation and structuring mandates, including the establishment and ongoing asset management of Grit's Bora Africa, a USD 130 million platform backed by development finance institutions and institutional investors, with exposure across data centres, logistics, BPO, retail, and office assets. He also advised on the asset-for-unit swap structure underpinning the listing of the LAPTRUST Imara I-REIT, a USD 70 million institutional REIT, and supported the successful launch of Ghana's second listed REIT, Rangoon REIT, with a valuation of approximately USD 38 million.

Previously at JLL, Crispus advised developers and institutional investors across more than ten African markets on mixed-use, logistics, residential, and office developments, contributing to investment strategy, feasibility analysis, capital deployment decisions, and cross-border transaction structuring.
